Field of scientific interests: methodology and technology of teaching the course “Fundamentals of Religious Cultures and Secular Ethics” in the Russian education system; the integrated system of content for the course on the fundamentals of religious cultures and secular ethics; approaches to constructing a research space for studying the history of religions and the history of state-confessional relations in the Russian Federation.
Olga Yuryevna is the first woman to serve as the Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation (2016-2018) and the first Minister of Enlightenment of the Russian Federation (2018-2020). During her tenure, astronomy classes were reinstated in the school curriculum, key principles for updating Federal State Educational Standards were developed, chess was popularized among schoolchildren, a vector was set to restore the status of postgraduate studies as a step in scientific activity, and the National Project “Education” was launched.
Olga Yuryevna is the author of more than 160 scientific works, including 8 monographs. Under her supervision, 3 Doctorates and 29 PhDs have been awarded.
She is a member of the International Association for the History of Religions and defended her doctoral dissertation on “The Russian Orthodox Church in Soviet State Policy from 1943 to 1948.”
